Reggae Boyz lead TTO 3-0 at halftime in Gold Cup
KINGSTON, Jamaica – Demarai Gray scored a first-half brace on his 27th birthday as Jamaica leads Trinidad and Tobago 3-0 at halftime in their Concacaf Gold Cup Zone A game against group leaders Trinidad and Tobago at City Park in St Louis, Missouri.
Gray, who is playing only his second game for the ReggaeBoyz, scored in the 14th and 30th minutes while Leon Bailey made the score 2-0 in the 17th minute.
It was one-way traffic for Jamaica, who made three changes to their starting team from the one that drew 1-1 against the USA on Saturday, pinning Trinidad and Tobago back in their own half for most of the half.
Gray was well placed on the left side of the Trinidad box to fire past the Trinidad goalkeeper in the 14th minute.
Bailey doubled the advantage three minutes later when he was sent through with a pass from Michail Antonio. The goal was initially flagged offside but later awarded after VAR review.
Gray made it 3-0 in the 30th minute when he gave the Trinidad goalkeeper no chance with a powerful shot.
