Orlando-based Syn Citi Entertainment continues to establish itself in the competitive dancehall market with the Prosperity compilation album, which was released in October.

It is the independent company’s second project for 2023, following the Friends And Foes EP which came out in early summer.

Alton Smith, the label’s founder and CEO, gave emerging artistes in Jamaica a chance to shine on his early productions. For the Prosperity, he called on two established acts to lead the charge. They are Turbulence whose song is Against The Ropes and Norris Man who does Good Old Days.

I-Octane, another seasoned dancehall player, teams with rising artist Kashu Man on Don’t Blame Me.

Rytikal, one of the dancehall’s hottest acts, does Mother Earth.

Three up-and-coming deejays Vycedon, Bibidon and Nation Boss complete the list of artistes on the Prosperity. Their songs are Affliction, Greatness and Humble, respectively.

Vycedon and Bibidon did songs on early Syn City Entertainment compilation albums. Like his previous projects, Smith took a hands-on approach to production.

“I selected the artistes based on the feedback I got from the ‘riddim’ and vibes as well,” he said.

Syn Citi Entertainment entered the music business two years ago with the release of a self-titled rhythm album. Since then, Smith has made inroads with similar projects like the Furnace and the Nation, which both came out in 2022.
