Schoolboy football matches postponed
KINGSTON, Jamaica –Due to the inclement weather affecting the island as a result of Hurricane Ian, the Inter-Secondary Schools Sports Association (ISSA) is advising that all schoolboy football competitions scheduled for Monday have been postponed.
The Meteorological Service recently issued a flash flood warning for low-lying and flood-prone areas in St Catherine, Clarendon, St Thomas, Portland, Kingston & St Andrew and St Mary.

Subsequently, ISSA has announced that the Manning Cup match-ups between Spanish Town High and Jonathon Grant High and St Mary’s College versus Cedar Grove High have been called off. Both matches were scheduled for 3:30 pm.
In addition, the highly anticipated ‘Battle of North Street’ between Kingston College and St George’s College was postponed on Saturday.
A new date is set to be released.
In the interim, ISSA cited that the weather conditions are being monitored and that the organisation will provide updates for the 28 Manning and daCosta Cup matches slated for Tuesday, September 26.
