WATCH: Two escape serious injury in Mandeville crash
MANCHESTER, Jamaica — Two people narrowly escaped serious injury following a crash on the Winston Jones Highway in Mandeville on Wednesday.
The two-vehicle crash, which happened at 10:50 am near the Marshall’s Pen intersection with the highway, involved a Ford pickup and a Honda motorcar. One of the vehicles reportedly ran off the road into a banana field.
The driver of the motorcar told Observer Online that she was turning right onto Marshall’s Drive when the pickup collided with her vehicle.
The crash-prone road has been the scene of numerous accidents over the years.
In August, two people also escaped serious injury following a crash near the intersection.

In July, some 500 cases of water were looted from a delivery truck after it collided with a Nissan Tida, mere metres from both crashes.

Residents of Marshall’s Pen are calling on the National Works Agency to remark on the intersection with an unbroken white line to reduce the likelihood of crashes there.
