The would-be robber has been identified as Romel Broomfield, a labourer, also of Kinowl district.

Reports are that about 12:30 am on Sunday, July 3, one of the occupants of a house went into the kitchen and spotted the robber. She raised an alarm and he fled through the back door. However, the Malvern Police quickly responded and Broomfield was held shortly after.
