CANADA-based Jamaican attorney-at-law Yanique Russell is set to spearhead a second immigration expo in Kingston and Mandeville aimed at providing guidance to people thinking of migrating to Canada.

According to Russell, in a global community travel has become more and more a way of life but yet several people do not have access to the immigration services provided by licensed professionals. As a consequence, the immigration attorney said she conceptualised Global Immigration Services — an organisation centred on helping individuals desiring to study, work and live abroad.

According to Russell, this expo is her way of giving back and “extending the rope” to her fellow countrymen who may be unaware of these opportunities.

The first expo will be held on January 20 at the Jamaica Conference Centre and the second on January 21 at the Cecil Charlton Hall in Mandeville, Jamaica. Both sessions will commence at 10:00 am and end at approximately 3:00 pm.

Russell said the event’s inaugural staging attracted over 800 attendees, many of whom successfully transitioned to Canada to study, work, and live.

She added: “This year’s event will be even bigger and better as it promises to provide participants with a wealth of information and practical, first-hand advice from licensed attorneys and immigration professionals on how to study, work and live in Australia, Canada, and the United States. Additionally, attendees will benefit from self-help strategies and information on the most suited pathways to migrate to these countries.”
