Two of St Ann’s most wanted men are now in police custody.

Brothers Kaeano Fyffe and Shaquille Fyffe were recently arrested in Miami and The Bahamas, respectively after eluding cops in Jamaica.

According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Linton Bailey, who is in charge of criminal investigations in the parish, the Fyffe brothers had been creating havoc in and around Pineapple Place in Ocho Rios over the past few months.

“Pineapple Place was an area of concern for the police as there is an ongoing feud. However, one of the main players, Kaeano Fyffe, was held in Florida after he eluded us here in Jamaica based on a stop order that we placed on him. His brother Shaquille was held on the first of the month in The Bahamas,” Bailey told the monthly sitting of the St Ann Municipal Corporation on Thursday.

He said that both men were being sought by the police in relation to gun-related crimes committed in the parish.

“Kaeano was charged with shooting with intent and he will also be charged for a murder committed in Pineapple Place, and his brother Shaquille will also be charged for gun-related offences,” he said

Shaquille is also currently facing charges in The Bahamas for robbery with aggravation, the cop added.

There has been some level of normalcy in the area since the men migrated, according to Bailey.

“We now have a little calm in the area and we continue to monitor and do our routine checks there,” said Bailey

He also made mention of the parish’s success in nabbing those responsible for majority of the murders committed in the parish. Since the start of the year, a total of 13 murders have been recorded, three more than the corresponding period last year.

“Of these 13 murders, so far we have made a number of arrests and overall we would have cleared up about nine of those. One of the most recent was someone who was pointed out in an ID parade,” said Bailey.
