Top local business leaders were on Thursday, September 14 celebrated for their “relentless contributions to nation-building” at a black-tie event hosted by the Mona School of Business and Management (MSBM) at the Jamaica Pegasus. The gala and awards ceremony commemorated the MSBM’s 10th anniversary and was held under the theme ‘A Decade of Excellence and Innovation’.

Several past heads of departments and executive directors were lauded during the proceedings, as were distinguished alumni, and emerging and outstanding business leaders.

A highlight of the evening was MSBM Executive Director David McBean’s announcing the MSBM Endowment Fund, which he says “will be started with 1/2 billion dollars of our assets… I wish to go further, and invite the private sector, in particular, to match or exceed our initial investment, so that next year when we gather, the executive director can announce that we have an endowment fund not of 1/2 billion, but in excess of one billion dollars,” said McBean.
