Rhythm Buzz all the way in trainers association trophy feature
RHYTHM Buzz is expected to lead the pack in today’s United Racehorse Trainers Association Trophy feature event on the 10-race card at Caymanas Park.
First post is at 11:30 am.
Trained by Vincent Atkinson, Rhythm Buzz, a three-year-old colt, will be ridden by jockey Romario Spencer in the nine-furlong, 25-yard event. The colt, a strong contender and the current favourite, is back competing over his preferred distance, after falling short by three-quarters of a length in catching the Canadian-bred Atlantic Convoy two weeks ago in an eight-furlong run.
Facing familiar foes Essential Quality and Money Miser, Rhythm Buzz aims to assert dominance in today’s race. Essential Quality, partnered with jockey Paul “Country” Francis, has shown impressive form in recent exercises, displaying a notable pedigree by winning the Winston Griffiths Classic at odds of 30-1 on September 2 at Caymanas Park.
Nevertheless, Rhythm Buzz — a Buzz Nightmare-River Rhythm colt with two victories over the distance this year — is anticipated to comfortably secure the win this afternoon, having demonstrated excellent form in preparation for the event. The competitive field also includes Super Alex, Wow How, Here Comes Doc, Uncaptured Empress, and Power From Above.
In another race, General Chief, guided by jockey Richard Parchment, is poised for victory in the eighth event for four-year-old horses and non-winners of three, covering eight furlongs. Trained by Spencer Chung, General Chief has secured back-to-back third-place finishes in his last two outings. The race carries a purse of $780,000.
General Chief faces strong competition from The Exodus, featuring champion jockey Dane Dawkins, and Justin Biden with Ryan Lewis on board.
