LEADERS Treasure Beach FC could move closer to a place in the semi-finals of the Jamaica Football Federation Tier II competition today if they can beat fourth-place Albion Mountain at Clemhards Park, in a match set to start at 3:30 pm.

Treasure Beach FC are on 25 points, five more than four teams tied on 20 points including Albion Mountain as well as Lime Hall Academy and Tru-Juice, who will meet at Drax Hall in another crucial game.

With four games left in the regular season seven teams are still in the chase for the four semi-final spots, and the intensity is expected to be increased at both ends of the points table.

Treasure Beach FC will be gunning for a seventh-straight win but Albion Mountain, the only team yet to lose a game so far, will also be eyeing a spot in the semi-finals.

The St Elizabeth team had won the game between the two sides last season but could be made to work harder for a win against the squad with the best defensive record in the league, with just four goals against.

Albion Mountain have not conceded a goal in their last four games, albeit two were 0-0 draws at home, and will hope Douwarne Hamilton and Kymani Silvera, their top scorers with three goals each, will be up to the task today.

Shanoy Smith has been the most consistent scorer for Treasure Beach FC with five goals and he will lead the attack against Albion Mountain.

Tru-Juice FC and Lime Hall Academy are separated by goal difference and while Tru-Juice had won this fixture 6-1 last season, the scores are expected to be closer this time.

Tru-Juice are coming off a big 11-1 win over Downs YC on Saturday and face a Lime Hall Academy team that was shocked 5-0 by Baptist Alliance on Saturday. Tru-Juice must therefore rebound if they are to keep their semi-finals hopes alive.

Prior to Saturday’s loss Lime Hall Academy had won their previous three games by a 6-0 aggregate, and they must return to that form as soon as possible against a Tru-Juice team that has been inconsistent.
