JWN Foundation Hosts Rum-Raiser and Auction

J Wray & Nephew (JWN) Foundation hosted the second staging of their charity event, ‘Rum-Raiser and Auction’ at their corporate office on Dominica Drive last Thursday evening.

The event, a haven for rum collectors and philanthropists alike, featured an impressive array of rare and sought-after spirits. Among the coveted bottles up for auction were the 23-year-old Journey rum starting at J$ 175,000, the 30-year-old ’30’ at J$ 200,000, and the 35-year-old Ruby rum at J$ 200,000—each a unique gem that cannot be found anywhere else in the world.

The auction also showcased an assortment of desirable items, including fine art, travel passes, hotel stays, appliances, accessories and grocery vouchers. Adding to the evening’s allure was the 24 Rare Reserve Jamaica Rum, curated by Appleton Estate master blender Dr Joy Spence, available for purchase at US $600.

The event’s proceeds contribute to the JWN Foundation’s three pillars: Social inclusion, Culture, and Education.

Following the success of its 2018 debut, the JWN Foundation plans to establish this celebration as an annual tradition, ensuring both enthusiasts and the community continue to benefit from this unique blend of philanthropy and rare spirits.

Saturday Social has highlights.
