Traffic changes to be implemented in Christiana, Manchester for the holiday season
MANCHESTER, Jamaica — The National Works Agency (NWA) will introduce a series of traffic changes in Christiana, Manchester, beginning Monday, December 8, 2025.
The adjustments, which aim to ease congestion during the Christmas period, will remain in place until Monday, January 5, 2026, according to a release on Thursday.
Commencing Monday, Main Street in Christiana, at its intersection with the Christiana Bypass (Apple Tree Plaza), will accommodate only single lane movement from the direction of Mandeville towards the Christiana High School. No right turn will be allowed from Webb Road and Wildman Street onto Main Street. All vehicles heading from these directions into the town will only be allowed a left turning movement.
Nevermine Road, near Christiana High School, will operate solely as an exit from the town, with no entry permitted onto Main Street. Left turns onto Main Street will also be prohibited from Jones Lane, Azan Lane and Moravia Road. All vehicles heading from these directions into the town will only be able to make right turn movements.
Motorists wishing to enter Christiana, from the direction of Trelawny, Dump and Bryce Hill will be able to travel as far as to the Christiana Post Office. The Christiana Bypass will have to be used to enter any other area along Main Street.
The NWA says the changes are intended to facilitate smoother traffic flow throughout the holiday season.
