A Lesson In Love

A Lesson In Love

For educators Trishforel Thompson and Rogerick Hibbert a lesson plan would be the beginning of a series of events that would culminate at the altar on August 15, 2023.

Trishforel and Rogerick met in 2018, but started dating in 2019, after a year of friendship. Then on April 17, 2023 Rogerick proposed. His original plan for it to take place in a beautifully decorated hotel room was thwarted however, when they happened upon dear friends and decided to dine together. Unable to contain his excitement, Rogerick placed the ring box on the table with a message asking Trish: “After seeing our friends, I want them to be a part of this exciting moment with us. Will you marry me?” She said ‘Yes!’

The ceremony took place at Christar Villa Hotel, where Bishop Wayan Wellington officiated. This same venue served as the reception site, ensuring a seamless transition to the joyous celebration that followed.

The wedding was infused with rustic charm, featuring warm orange and brown hues that created an inviting and cosy ambience. Eulalee McIntyre was the creative force behind the decor elements, bringing the couple’s vision to life. Photographer Kamar McHugh, meanwhile, was on hand to capture memorable moments.

Trishforel’s parents, Patricia Davis and Donovan Thompson, proudly stood by her side. Regrettably, Rogerick’s mother had passed but his father, Roger Hibbert, represented for them both.

The bridal party was a beautiful blend of love and friendship. The bride’s attendants included her aunts, Keri-ann Davis Miller as the maid of honour, and Kayon Davis McBean her bridesmaid. Francina Seaton and Jodi-ann Seaton are both aunts of the groom. On the groom’s side, the best man, Kevroy, due to unforseen circumstances arrived late, resulting in his absence from the group photo. However, the groomsmen, Derron and Matthew Hibbert, were on hand to support Rogerick.

Trishforel’s wedding gown, obtained from Bliss Bridal Boutique, featured a classic sweetheart neckline fishtail gown, finished with a cathedral veil. Rogerick’s suit, designed by Levac Designs, perfectly complemented his bride’s dress.

Christar Villas Hotel catered the reception, offering a delectable feast, while Taylor Events ensured that every detail was in place to make the day truly special. The couple, not usually cake lovers, were appreciative of the one created by friend of the mother of the bride, ensuring the day had a sweet touch.

“The reception,” shared the newly-weds, “was a joyous celebration, filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable moments.

“Our first dance as husband and wife was to You Are The Reason by Calum Scott. Our guests revelled in the festive atmosphere, enjoying the feast as they talked and laughed.

“After our unforgettable wedding day, we took off on a dreamy honeymoon at Jewels Paradise Cove, marking the beginning of our new life together.”

Tuesday Style Vows (TSV) wishes Trishforel and Rogerick all the very best.
