VOWS: A New Day Has Come
The death of the younger son of Patrice Braithwaite and David Evans led to Tuesday Style Vows (TSV) suspects, serious introspection. The two were in a solid relationship; in fact they’d been together for 35 years, having first met as students at Tivoli Gardens Comprehensive High School. Their union had produced two wonderful sons.
“It was love at first sight… and we have been through it all — good times and bad. No one had expected us to last this long, and we stood together proving everyone wrong, but one thing for sure: We’ve always got each other’s backs no matter what,” shared Patrice with TSV.
There was nothing like being asked to be his wife she added. “I was in awe; I was so happy because, finally, after all these years he decided to marry me.”
The significance of the date of the proposal was not lost on her. It came on her birthday, August 20, 2022.
I now pronounce you…
The exchange of vows took place in the gardens at the Courtleigh Hotel and Suites where D’Mar Events used Tiffany Blue, fuchsia, gold and white to enhance the area.
Maurette Brown Clark’s One He Kept for Me signalled the start of the procession as the maid of honour, dressed in an off-the-shoulder fuchsia dress, made her way up the aisle.
At the altar stood David, clad in a light grey suit and a Tiffany blue tie alongside his best man Fabian Mattar.
To the timeless strains of Kenny G’s The Wedding Song, Patrice made her way up the aisle escorted by her son David Evans, Jr. She was a beautiful sight in an ivory gown from Bliss Bridal Boutique with lace and sequin details. Her bouquet comprised pink and white roses.
The wedding was officiated by Pastor Kevan Barnaby.
“Our reception was lovely; it was everything we dreamed of. We all had a good time; I couldn’t have asked for anything better,” shared the newly minted Mrs David Evans.
The Tiffany Blue, fuchsia, gold and white theme continued in the ballroom of the Courtleigh Hotel and Suites where the wedding party made their entrance to Celine Dion’s A New Day Has Come.
This was followed by the couple’s first dance as husband and wife to Shania Twain’s You’re Still The One and Barbra Streisand’s I Finally Found Someone.
Guests enjoyed a three-course meal and witnessed the cutting of the two-tiered rum cake from Trudi-Ann Stephenson.
The newly-weds and their guests subsequently danced the night away to the selections of DJ Fletcher.
A honeymoon will follow at a later date.
