What are your earliest memories of Kingston?

My grandparents taking me to Victoria Pier on the waterfront, downtown Kingston, where it was a lovely scene complete with restaurants and a boardwalk.

What do you miss when you are not in Kingston?

The beautiful, lush vegetation I see when I look towards the mountains. There are not many cities that are surrounded by that beautiful backdrop.

What are your favourite home comforts?

Relaxing in front of my television and watching the NFL.

What would you do if you were mayor (of Kingston) for a day?

I would have a food initiative to feed the homeless of our city.

Percival.

And the last bit of music that stirred your soul?

Exodus by Bob Marley, which I was listening to about two weeks ago.

What was your last bit of retail therapy?

I bought a bottle of Appleton Reserve and recently purchased a lovely suit from Barney’s during my last visit to New York.

Which cologne are you currently splashing?

Prada

What is your preferred beverage?

I’m a man of many tastes, so I do enjoy a Guinness as well as Appleton Reserve on the rocks.

What has been your most memorable meal in Kingston?

Oxtail from Norma’s On The Terrace. I have enjoyed quite a few meals there too; she does an excellent butterfish and seafood bisque. I have also enjoyed fish at Aunt May’s in Hellshire.

What upsets you?

Injustice.

What are your current projects?

To develop my company as one of the major security service providers in the island. As chairman of National Solid Waste, I am determined to keep Jamaica clean and serve my country to the best of my ability.

What advice would you give to first-time visitors?

Kingston is more than a hotel room. see Devon House, Emancipation Park, Strawberry Hill and Hope Gardens to get a sense of how connected to nature our city really is; explore it.cautiously.

What’s your philosophy?

I believe that with hard work and dedication one can achieve one’s goals in life. One might have hurdles along the way, but these must be overcome in order to get ahead. And one has got to seek direction and guidance from The Man Upstairs.
