Lindsay Lohan shows off her bruises at the beach

As a 23-year-old svelte blonde larking about on a beach in a plunging swimsuit, Lindsay Lohan doesn’t need to do much to get attention.

But as the troubled actress posed for a photoshoot on a Santa Monica beach recently, onlookers found themselves distracted by the nasty cuts, bruises and scratches on her body.

On her right thigh, it appeared a chunk of Lindsay’s skin had been removed, while a painful red scratch lay beneath it. She also had another bruise on her left shin and a deep scratch on her right arm.

But despite her many injuries, Lindsay didn’t appeared bothered by them and looked happy.

By the time the photos taken will appear in a magazine, we can safely assume her cuts will be airbrushed out of the photos.

The Mean Girls star also appeared to have applied her fake tan badly and had orange blotches on her arms, feet and bikini line.

Lindsay was getting into the Christmas spirit during the shoot as she posed on the beach wearing a Santa Hat.

In between shots, she relaxed on a deckchair reading the latest gossip on Tiger Wood’s scandal in the latest edition of American magazine Newsweek.

Lindsay spent actual Christmas Day in her native New York with her mum Dina Lohan, brothers Michael Jnr and Dakota and sister Aliana.

Rihanna gets her ‘frills’ in a pink bikini

When you’re a global phenomenon like Rihanna, the chance for some R and R doesn’t come round very often.

So the 21-year-old has been making the most of a rare break in her hectic schedule to enjoy some downtime back home in Barbados.

She turned heads in a stunning frilly pink bikini as she strolled along a beach with friends. 2009 has been an incredible year for the R & B star, who’s endured the best and worst of times.

Back in February she was embroiled in a bitter bust-up with her ex Chris Brown, who was subsequently sentenced to five years of probation, and a year of domestic violence counselling after admitting assault.

Clearly a holiday back in her old stomping ground has provided a chance for her reflect. In a message on her website, she says, “To all my fans, thank you for being amazingly supportive and loyal this year… Happy Holidays to you and your families.”

Looking happy and relaxed, the singer spent hours wandering along the shore with her friends and later boarded a boat for a trip around the island.

Later on, she hung out with friends at a beach bar. For Rihanna, who is normally at the cutting edge of fashion, spending the whole day in a bikini must have come as a bit of a release.

Leona Lewis jets back to LA

After a down-to-earth Christmas in her home of Hackney, east London, it’s time for Leona Lewis to return to her glamorous pop star life.

The former X Factor winner spent a few days relaxing at home in London with her parents Joe and Maria Lewis and boyfriend Lou Al-Chamaa.

But as the festive season winds to a close, Leona and Lou were spotted arriving back at Los Angeles’ LAX Airport on Boxing Day. The Bleeding Love beauty kept it casual in a baggy black woolly hat, purple jumper and tight-fitting jeans. She was also clutching a shimmering pink Blackberry and chic cream handbag.

Gaunt Victoria Beckham in daring outfit

While most of us can’t help but gain a pound or two with some festive indulgence, the exact opposite happens to Victoria Beckham.

As these latest pictures show, Posh could do with ditching her latest diet regime and putting some weight on.

All eyes were on Posh’s bony chest and gaunt face as the WAG queen stepped out for dinner with husband David, 34, at one of Gordon Ramsay’s restaurants in Chelsea.

It’s fair to say she probably didn’t take up the Christmas pudding and brandy butter option for dessert.
