Last year was a big one for Emma Watson. She had her final teenage birthday, she started university — and she managed to become the highest-paid female star in Hollywood.

The Harry Potter actress, 19, is said to have banked more in 2009 than established stars such as Cameron Diaz, Angelina Jolie and Sarah Jessica Parker.

Her income was put at £20 million in the table of Hollywood’s top 40 earners compiled by Vanity Fair magazine. She came 14th overall — and is the youngest person, male or female, to appear. The magazine said her fee for appearing as Hermione in the final two parts of the Harry Potter series, The Deathly Hallows I and II, was £10 million for each film.

Her Potter co-star Daniel Radcliffe fared even better and was placed sixth overall with an income of £25.6 million. The 20-year-old was the highest paid actor on the list, with the top five places all occupied by directors. He earned a further £600,000 in royalties from Harry Potter merchandise. Radcliffe earned more than Johnny Depp and Robert De Niro.

The list was topped by director Michael Bay who made the Transformers films. His income was put at £78.12 million with Steven Spielberg second with £ 53.1 million.

Lady GaGa pays tribute to fans w i t h Little Monsters tattoo

Clearly grateful for her phenomenal success over the past year, Lady GaGa decided to go one better than her regular Twitter tribute to her fans and made her gratitude permanent with a new tattoo.

Fresh from her Grammy success, the 23-year-old went to a tattoo parlour and got the words Little Monsters etched on her left arm in italics on Monday.

After going under the needle, she posted a photo of her new etching on her Twitter page. She wrote: “Look what I did last night. Little monsters forever, on the arm that holds my mic. x.”

Her new etching now sits below another tattoo she had done in Japan last year, which quotes her favourite philosopher Rainer Maria Rilke, written in German.

Following the show-stopping performance, she wrote: “We won big tonight, little monsters. I am so proud to make music for you. I hope I continue to inspire you the way you inspire me. You’re everything.”

Fergie went futuristic when The Black Eyed Peas opened their US tour on Thursday night.

The singer’s all-in-one costume, emblazoned with computer circuitry, made her look like a digital character in Tron, the 1982 sci-fi movie.

The Black Eyed Peas have focused on a futuristic theme in all the videos released as part of their latest album The END.

So Fergie continued the trend in her skin-tight Tron-inspired costume on stage in Atlanta, Georgia. 

The show, which saw them perform their biggest hits including I’ve Got A Feeling, My Humps and Where Is The Love?, came just four days after the band won three Grammys. The Black Eyed Peas are currently the best-selling hip-hop act, having sold over 26 million records worldwide.

Nine million copies of The END have been sold since its release in June.
