Talking LOVE

Style Observer

SO asked a few of our favourites to spill the beans on their favourite Valentine’s Day memories and wishes here goes:

Steve Wilson

One year my girlfriend and I were staying with her parents in Toronto for a few weeks and I figured on a low-key Valentine’s night. To my surprise, however, she packed an overnight bag, a bottle of champagne and found a beautiful bed-and-breakfast a mere 45 minutes away. We whisked away to the snow-capped hotel, had an amazing three-course meal and a quiet romantic evening together…there was even a hot tub in the room!

Truthfully my philosophy is that every day should be Valentine’s Day; love should be spread every day of the year. However, come Valentine’s Day I live vicariously through my customers , because I am usually at work ensuring that their significant others get their Valentine’s Chocolate Dreams.

Marie “Sima” Hall-Smith

As corny as it may seem to some, my best Valentine’s Day experience was actually four years ago when my husband and I went to Gloria’s. We carried our own champagne, dined on steamed fish and had a blast. It’s really the simplest things that count.

David Weir

My best experience would have to be having dinner with my wife at Strawberry Hill. The person you are with , the setting and good food is all one really needs to make Valentine’s Day fantastic.

Tahnida Nunes

I would have to say it was when my significant other at the time surprised me on that special night with a candlelight dinner . Actually I was upset with him at the time, but he got my cousin to let him into my house and prepared dinner. When I got home and saw what he had prepared I was shocked, because I really had not expected it.

Tabitha Athey

When I was young my dad used to send me roses at school every year on Valentine’s Day. I know it’s not über romantic, but I loved it.

Ard Jarret

I walked into my bedroom and 100 red helium balloons with silver streamers lined my ceiling, and about three dozen rose petals were spread around the room. A present was also on the bed. I was then blindfolded and driven to the Yacht Club, then led to a boat where I had dinner with my date in the harbour by the wharf.

Ce’cile

Usually I’m working on Valentine’s day or worse, travelling to and fro; this time I will be returning from Nassau, so I’m not sure what type of day I will have as I am at the mercy of the airlines! However, I can tell you my ultimate Valentine’s wish would be to be proposed to on said day, with a huge rock! That would be so romantic!
