Maybe they have not tied the knot officially, and maybe he is not really a gangster, or is he?But one of dancehall’s hot couples, Ishawna and ace selector, Foota Hype, are slated to play the lead characters (husband and wife) in Macka Diamond’s latest novel, The Real Gangster’s Wife, at the launch set for this Thursday, February 18, at Club Moulin Rouge, Constant Spring Road.

“We are just bringing a different energy to the whole concept of what a book launch is traditionally known to be,” states Pageturner’s CEO, Karl Larmond. “This is Macka’s second novel and the support from the music industry has been great, so we decided to do a little role play and really bring the book to life by getting individuals like Ishawna and Foota involved to give it that touch of realism. We also have notable individuals like Ragashanti, also playing a lead role, then we have Tifa and Natalie Storm, playing friends of the leading lady. We also have G Whizz, Jerry D, Mystic, Khago, Gunter (Comedian) and a host of others, all either coming to do readings, or a little acting.”

Macka is also excited and anticipating the launch.

“Trus mi, it ago mad, crazy people calling, wanting to be involved, so we looking forward to great things,” states Macka who is quick to point out that unlike Bun Him, her male counterparts will definitely enjoy this one, because there is no inkling of bun, cheese or even crackers.

“No, this book is on a whole different vibe,” clarifies Macka. “The Real Gangster’s Wife is nothing like Bun Him, it a deal wid reality yes, but a different kind of reality.”
