To the glitz and glamour of the Oscars red carpet last night, Mariah Carey added a touch of intrigue by hinting that she was pregnant.
Looking radiant, the 39-year-old told reporters that ‘something special’ was about to happen but refused to elaborate further.
The singer, who was not nominated but appeared in the film Precious, wore a blue Valentino dress with a plunging neckline and revealing side slit that showed off her voluptuous curves.
The singer was among a host of stars to attend the 82nd Academy Awards in Hollywood on Sunday night.

Sitting front row at the Yves Saint Laurent Autumn/Winter 2010 show at Paris Fashion Week, the 41-year-old singer showed off her legs in a pair of leather shorts.
With her latest shorts significantly longer and high-waisted, they’re unlikely to make quite the same lasting impression as her famous hot pants from the Spinning Around video.
Minogue had taken a break from recording her new album to zip over the English Channel in the Eurostar to attend the show.
But she soon found her leather shorts and a sleeveless salmon top weren’t quite warm enough for the French capital’s freezing temperatures of -3C. The Australian singer soon covered up with her YSL coat.

Katie Price wraps up… despite the LA sunshine
It might be warm in California, but Katie Price obviously has a new furry hat and gilet to show off.
The glamour model wandered around Malibu with husband Alex Reid on Monday in a Russian-style hat and furry gilet despite temperatures rising to 19C (66F).
Looking like something out of the film Dr Zhivago, where the characters were living in frozen Russia, Katie popped to the shops following her night at Elton John’s Oscars party on Sunday.
Alex, 34, was dressed more sensibly for the weather in cargo pants and a long-sleeve T-shirt. The 31-year-old flew to the LA last week to join Alex, who is shooting scenes for his Bravo martial arts show The Fight Of His Life.
