Jesse James has checked himself into a treatment facility for professional help ‘to deal with personal issues’ following allegations he cheated on his wife Sandra Bullock.

A spokesman for the US TV personality and motorbike enthusiast said James “realised that this time was crucial to help himself, help his family and help save his marriage.”

He added that it was “100 percent his own idea”, and not the result of an ultimation from Bullock. Although the representative did not specify the type of treatment facility, website TMZ reported it was the Sierra Tucson in Arizona, which specialises in disorders including drug and sex addiction.

Bullock moved out of the marital home after news broke two weeks ago of her husband’s 11-month affair with tattoo model and Nazi sympathiser Michelle McGee.

A second woman, tattooed stripper Melissa Smith, then claimed in US magazine Star she had a two-year relationship with James. Allegations were also made in the States that James had ‘multiple’ affairs with women he met online and that his infidelities were an ‘open secret’ among employees at his bike shop in California.

It has been alleged that the 40-year-old put up adverts on the internet in a bid to meet women and then arranged to meet them at his shop called West Coast Choppers.
