When the 2010 Scotia Private Client Group Jamaica Open kicks off this Tuesday, expect much fanfare as the new sponsors aim to take the sport higher.

The tournament this year has four very evenly matched teams, bringing together the best of Jamaica’s talent with, in some instances, a combination of foreign pros to vie for Jamaican polo’s most coveted trophy. This is the must-win pro-am tournament of the season and last year’s winner James Robertson will be keen to prove that his team was not just a one-hit wonder, and can come back and waltz off with the silverware yet again. There are three other teams who are keen to see to it that history doesn’t repeat itself.
