Christina Aguilera copies Lady GaGa

… donning PVC outfit in new video

Eighteen months ago, Christina Aguilera dismissed suggestions she was copying Lady GaGa, icily declaring: ‘I don’t know if it is a man or a woman.’

But as the 29-year-old prepares to release her first studio album in four years, it looks like Aguilera may be feeling the pressure to mount a stunning comeback. In a clip of the singer’s new video for her comeback single Not Myself Tonight, Aguilera opts for a PVC bra and pencil skirt – identical to an outfit worn by GaGa in London last August. As well as showing off an edgier, sexy style, Aguilera’s new album Bionic is a more futuristic, dance-oriented sound, a complete change in musical direction for the singer.

During Aguilera’s four-year absence from the music scene to focus on motherhood, GaGa has leaped from obscurity to become one of the biggest female acts in the world today. With both artists known for their platinum blonde hair, risqué outfits and dramatic make-up, comparisons would be inevitable. But critics accuse Aguilera of ditching her previous retro style of dressing in a bid to outdo the eccentric GaGa, 24.

Even R&B singer Akon has suggested Aguilera is feeling ‘insecure’ about GaGa’s huge fame. He told Vibe magazine: ‘I think sometimes she gets insecure because of all of the success Gaga has had, not realising that she was already successful before Gaga came out. Soon as Gaga came out, everything switched up. Christina stepped out of her own shell to become something different.’ Unsurprisingly, Aguilera isn’t impressed with the comparison: ‘It just comes with the territory. That, in particular, is not even worth wasting the breath to comment on. I’ve been around for over a decade and I think my work speaks for myself.’

LiLo fired from new film… and resorts to promoting milkshakes

Lindsay Lohan’s free-falling career plummeted to even lower depths after she was fired from her latest movie this week.

The troubled actress was lined up to appear in adventure comedy The Other Side alongside Woody Harrelson, but producers decided to drop her because she was ‘not bankable enough’. ‘Our team simply chose to move on from Lindsay and we’ll soon be announcing a replacement,’ David Michaels, the writer/director of the film, told TMZ. The production has already been delayed and the financial backers of the project were said to be worried about the notoriously erratic 23-year-old being involved. Lindsay has not had a film role since the 2009 comedy romance Labor Pains, which was sent straight to DVD.

If she’s worried about the disastrous state of her affairs, she didn’t let it show as she made a paid appearance at Millions of Milkshakes in West Hollywood to create her own custom ‘Celebrity Milkshakes’ and with no hint of irony, collected a little golden award for it afterwards. It’s a long way from Oscar glory for an actress who had once shown such promise.

Victoria Beckham wears daring low-cut top… for a trip to the grocery store

With three young sons to care for and a business to run, most mothers would be content pulling on an old sweater to nip to the shops. But not Victoria Beckham. The 36-year-old looked as if she was heading to a nightclub as she popped into the grocery store in New York on Monday.

Her daring silver tank top plunged almost to the waist, while the sheer fabric revealed her toned stomach. The outfit was completed with one of Victoria’s vast collection of Birkin bags and a stylish pendant. Of course, with the Spice Girl’s busy life she wasn’t just shopping that day – she also supported husband David when he appeared on U.S. chatshow The View. Sitting in the audience, she watched as he admitted he will be out of the World Cup because of his Achilles tendon injury and fears he will pile on the pounds as a result.
