Training to start for Pan Am Juniors
TRAINING for this year’s Pan American Junior Badminton Championships starts today at the GC Foster College. Until further notice, training will be on Saturdays and Sundays from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm.
This year’s Pan Am Juniors will be staged in the Dominican Republic from August 5 to 11. Jamaica won two gold, one silver and two bronze medals at last year’s renewal in Puerto Rico.
Attached is the list of the 46 players initially invited to train with the squad under national junior coach Howard Ranger and assistant coach Lisco Jackson. A maximum of four boys and four girls will make the team from each age group. Additional players may be added but overall, the squad will be reduced periodically as training progresses.
The training squads are as follows: Under-19 — Mikaylia Haldane, Shakira Bailey, Dennis Coke, Anthony McNee, Gerald Isaacs, Jordan Roberts, Jermaine Welch, Delsang Lue-Taim, Jamarey Gordon. Under-17 — Shana-Kay Bailey, Stacey-Ann Blake, Sheinell Hyatt, Jade Ann Campbell, Chantal Mclaren, Jozzanne Suckie, Janeille Foster, Otasha Frys, Jon-Andrew Neita, Jonathan David Smith, Romone Robinson, Jamari Rose, Jonathan Tomlinson. Under-15 — Jahvaine Henry, Jade Clarke, Katherine Wynter, D’Anna Marie Edwards, Diamond Cassanova, Neon Miller, Sean Wilson, Samuel Ricketts, Tremar Barham, Shevon Salmon, Erin Bailey, Stanley Ling, Under-13 — Iesha Gordon, Shantae Smith, Alana Bailey, Esther Reynolds, Keshana Wilson, Shane Wilson, Marco Brown. Under-11 — Tiana Daley, Demetri Francis, Jourdan Hydol-Smith and Akym Davis.
