Rock the cloth… ‘Addressing’ the issue
We are all for charity, but we are also all for getting our money’s worth. That’s the approach I took in this week’s article, when I got the most out of my daughter’s dresses – dresses she loved so much that she wanted to keep but had outgrown. The detailing of the skirts of these dresses was so beautiful that I figured I’d convert them from dresses to skirts, and did exactly that with great success.
The great thing is that the empire measurement is usually about the same as the waist, so by removing the bodice of the dress, it quickly converts into a skirt, and you will only need to hem the waist. With some styles, you may need to insert a zipper, add buttons or a sash to finish, but the conversions I made should be fairly easy to achieve. Here goes…
