Get glam hair in 30 minutes or less!

Get glam hair in 30 minutes or less!

Under the Dryer

Ladies, we know you want that “I just stepped right out of a hair commercial” look, but while we all agree that it’s über hot, we know some of you think it’s very high maintenance. If you would love to feel fab, but are too busy to spend time on your hair or you just don’t know how to get ‘TV hair’, fret not; Under The Dryer is here to help you get glam in no time! All you need is to make sure your hair is clean, and luckily for you, we teamed up with expert hairstylists Lorraine and Bella of Sunshine Beauty Salon to get you looking like a celebrity in just thirty minutes…don’t worry, you can thank us later.

Ronique Rhoden

Ronique sports her hair in a layered bob, but since her haircut had grown out a bit, Lorraine blow-dried it and gave it a little trim to maintain the shape of the style. Dr Miracle’s Intensive Healing Oil Hair and Scalp Treatment serum was used to rejuvenate the scalp and add a little moisture to her tresses before hot-curling with a slight, side-swept bouffant to the front. Motions Oil Sheen & Conditioning Spray topped-off this sophisticated look in just under twenty-five minutes! We love it because it’s so chic, yet easy enough to do with your own curling iron at home.

Tanisha Rainford

Tanisha loves her hair length, but often finds that it can take a lot of effort to maintain, and quite some time to get a hairstyle right. Enter Bella to the rescue, armed with a blow-dryer and a flat-iron to smooth out her taut curls and give her the kind of bouncy, fluffy hair we all see on TV (and secretly crave). She too was given a Dr Miracle’s Intensive Healing Oil Hair and Scalp Treatment before curling, and Softsheen Carson’s Let’s Jam Style Control Mega Hold Protein Styling Gel was used to keep the shorter strands in place. With a little African Pride Miracle Sheen Conditioning Oil Sheen, Bella had Tanisha’s hair cascading down her shoulders in no time. We could tell she wanted to scream “Yes! Yes! Yes!”

Peta-Gaye Irving

Peta-Gaye’s hair is very fine and she has a long curl pattern, so she sometimes uses a texturiser to get the straight look she prefers, but since her hair texture is so soft no moisturiser was used before it was blow-dried and curled. Bella explained that this would ensure her hair doesn’t droop (naturally, we pretended to know this). She simply blow-dried her hair, threw in some playful flipped curls á la Farrah Fawcett, used a little of the same “Jam” and some African Pride Miracle Sheen Conditioning Oil Sheen to complete the look. We think it’s simply fabulous!

Stacy-Ann Nielsen

Stacy loves the look of her new haircut for its healthy, full-bodied bounce, so she wanted to know how to make it a bit more exciting in as little time as possible. Lorraine knew just what to do. She began with a little Jamaican Mango & Lime Cactus Oil Serum for her scalp before using a medium-barrel iron to hot curl her hair with some soft flips to the back and some very feminine ‘sweep curls’ to the front for a very vintage, doll-like effect. Motions Oil Sheen & Conditioning Spray was used for added shine. Don’t you just love it?

Natisha Griffiths

Natisha wanted to give her hair a break for the summer so she opted for ‘rope-twist’ braids in crimson and brown. The idea was to wear it down or in a ponytail for the most part, and if necessary, get a classy ‘updo’ for special occasions, but she soon grew a bit bored with her style options. Lorraine decided to give her a much more complex look by adding a surprise element to the updo with a basket-weave mat design in the back. The amazing thing is it took exactly twelve minutes to do with just a few sharp twists and some invisible pins. Can you say a-ma-zing?
