Pulse Model Search now on

The 2010 Pulse Caribbean Model Search is now on. Gearing up to be the biggest on record, this year’s search will feature more than the usual new model hopefuls, adding major celebrities, international supermodels and superstar performers. The caliber of performers and the production of the live event on Sunday September 5, will be ratcheted up several notches, as Pulse redefines its own Caribbean model experience.

In a year that saw such recent model search stars as Sedene Blake and Jeneil Williams dominate runways from New York to Paris, outstanding new faces have come to the fore in droves at Pulse’s regular Wednesday auditions. Several more are expected as fashion’s summer comes into full swing. The success of the new Pulse stars has been enormous. Not only have the produced record breaking runway performances, they have also grabbed the editorial headlines with the covers of Vogue, i-D, The Wall Street Journal among others, plus a string of campaigns and look books including Aldo, Benetton, Neiman Marcus, L’Oreal, Marc Jacobs and Lanvin. The Pulse agency’s main man, Oraine Barrett is now a fixture on Ralph Lauren’s Polo campaigns.

The Pulse Model Search has produced names such as Kimberley Mais, Althea Laing, Angela Neil, Lois Samuels, Romae Gordon, Lincoln Wynter, Juline Samuels, Trudy Gray, Parisa Fitz Henly, Nikki Vassell, Nadine Willis, Carla Campbell, Nell Robinson, Gaye Mc Donald, Oraine Barrett, Jaunel McKenzie, Sunna Gottshalk, Jeneil Williams and Sedene Blake.

The beauty and confidence of plus sized girls will also take centre stage at this year’s search as Pulse gets set for its second edition of the popular full figured model competition both for the live show as well as the reality series. Last year, the agency added this new category to its suite and got an overwhelming response both from applicants as well as the public. The success of the live show gave way to the reality series which amassed a huge television following. Several faces have already been reviewed for the full figure segment as well as the four other titles — Jamaica Fashion Model, Male Face of Jamaica and Petite Jamaica Fashion Model up for grabs at the live September finale.

Entries for the local leg of Model Search 2010 are currently being accepted at the Pulse headquarters on Trafalgar Road in St Andrew.
