On Friday last, all roads lead to the Old Coal Wharf in Port Royal for the much anticipated Fully Loaded dance 2010. As expected, the event featured a host of local and international sound systems.

With the exception of selectors Sky Juice, Jazzy T and DJ Bambino, who brought sparks of excitement to the table, the soundclash segment could be considered extremely boring as selectors tried to entertain the audience with the use of expletives and anti-gay dubs. Guest artiste Ricky Blaze was well-received by the Fully Loaded audience as he pelted them with his hard-hitting lyrics. A highlight of his set was his performance with Ding Dong and the Ravers Clavers dancers as they demonstrated the latest dance moves.

G-Whizz, QQ, Aidonia and Stephen MGregor all represented well, but even they had to give way to the dancehall superstars — the five star General Bounty Killer and the King of Dancehall Beenie Man.

The two who have been fueding for at least 15 years recently called it quits in Negril and proved this in the presence of thousands at Fully Loaded. After being called on stage by Bounty Killer, Beenie then started a friendly tune for tune segment with Memories to which Bounty Killer sang along. Then there was Bounty’s Eagle and the Hawk, Beenie’s Old Dawg, followed by Bounty’s stuckie and the the friendly clash continued to the delight of the audience.

Then came the moment in the truce. As Bounty delivered Bulletproof Skin to which Beenie Man respond. “A war mi and yu di a war ya so , mi neva tek it serious and now mi nu memba mi song.” He then chanted, “this whole ting start tru mi meet Angel” and the boos followed for the Doctor. A visibly upset Beenie Man asked the crowd if the peace was one sided. He later decided not to continue his lyrics claiming that “Da song de nuh worth it.”

A few songs later Bounty declared, “differences can be put aside. We a big man, me a 38 and Beenie Man a 37. Him a grandfather to. What we do not forgettable, but it forgiveable, and we have to be liveable.”

After performing a few more songs Bounty and Beenie exited the stage and upcoming act Taz was left performing Candle in the Wind to an almost empty venue.
