Catch Di Riddim – Mr Lexx to tour Europe with Federation Sound
Dancehall artiste Mr Lexx, formerly known as Lexxus, is getting ready to hit the road with the internationally acclaimed New York-based Federation Sound system.
The tour, according to Mr Lexx, will feature Max Glazer and Kenny Meez. The jaunt is set to kick off in March and run for six weeks. Among the countries that the trek will make stops in are Italy, Germany, the Netherlands, and England.
This will be Lexx’s first time touring Europe since 2008. “I’m looking forward to great things on this tour. It’s going to be a blast,” he noted.
Mr Lexx who signed with VP Records in the late 1990’s, says he is getting out of his contract with the New York based independent label. “It’s been more than ten years now and we’ve had our ups and downs. It’s time to move on because I want to focus on my own company Jiggy House Records and I am also working with some artistes like CP Inc and Kevin Lloyd’, he explained.
The deejay shot onto the scene in the mid 1990’s with songs like Get Wid It, Ring Me Cellie, Full Hundred and Monkey’s Come Out. He released his sole album Full Hundred in 2000.
David M for Martin Luther King celebrations in New York
Singer David M whose single Girls Night Out has been enjoying attention at US rhythmic radio, has been invited as a special guest to the 26th Dr Martin Luther King ‘Living the Dream 2011’ reception and awards banquet in New York.
The event will take place at the Sheraton Hotel in New York City on January 17.
David M’s 2009 Black History themed song and video Lest We Forget will be played at the event.
David M is currently in the tri-state area doing the promotional rounds with print and electronic press ahead of the event.
Additionally, the Lest We Forget video will be aired in the Lift Every Voice programme on BET which will celebrate the work of Dr Martin Luther King Jr. The episode airs on January 17.

Rihanna takes over the singles and album charts in the UK
Rihanna has both the number one single and the number one album in the UK this week. Her latest single on that side of the Atlantic, What’s My Name featuring rapper Drake, is the new number one single on the UK Singles chart.
Over on the UK album chart, her current disc Loud moved up two rungs to capture the number one spot.
Rihanna is now the first female solo artiste in UK chart history to score a number one song each year, five years in a row.
Her UK chart topping ways began in 2007 with Umbrella featuring Jay Z. The following year she was number one with Take a Bow. Run This Town featuring Jay-Z was number one in 2009. Last year she soared to the top with Only Girl in the World.
Fundraising event for Mundo Ravers
Ding Dong and the Ravers Clavers dance entourage will be staging a fundraising event at the Building in New Kingston tonight. The Mundo Ravers Kidney Transplant Charity party will feature Vybz Kartel and Portmore Empire, Future Fambo, Seanizzle, Timberlee, Ding Dong and the Ravers Clavers, Firelinks and Chi Ching Ching among others.
According to Ding Dong, the proceeds from the event will go towards cushioning the costs for a kidney transplant operation that Mundo Ravers is required to undergo.
Mundo Ravers whose real name is Ricardo Gordon has been a member of the Ravers Clavers crew since 2006. He is featured prominently in music videos such as Sassa Step by Mr Vegas and Searching by Serani.
Meanwhile, Ding Dong is busy promoting a new dance called ABC Fast or Slow. The dance and song (which features Voicemail) is featured prominently in the medley for the Sanction rhythm.
Ding Dong is credited for a number of dance steps over the last few years including Bad Man Forward Bad Man Pull Up, Dip Again, and Summer Swing among others.
