Young artiste returns from Australian tour
MONTEGO BAY, St James — Budding cultural reggae artiste and songwriter, Nature this week returned from a three-month stint in Australia where he says he was warmly received by the reggae starved Aussies.
“The people love reggae down there, but they don’t get enough of a chance to see reggae artistes. But it was great for me to go down there and they accepted me and enjoyed my performances,” a gleeful Nature told the Observer.
He added: “I think I made a good impression on the tour because I got media coverage like every week down there.”
Nature, who thrilled the reggae fans Down Under with selections such as Wasting Time, Hold On, Jah Counsel and Kill No More, vows to continue working hard in the music industry in order to carve out a name for himself internationally.
During his tour of Australia, the dreadlocked entertainer found time during his busy schedule to shoot a music video for his recently released song Kill No More, in which he urges the youths to step away from the path that leads to crime and violence.
Culture, whose given name is Andre Ellis, hails from the gritty Glendevon community in St James. He graduated from St James High in 2002.
His talent was spotted the same year he left high school when he won the singing category of a talent show, Schoolers Bus Ride, put on by Danger Zone Production at Pier One in Montego Bay.
He went on to record Hold On and Wasting Time for the Ricardo ‘Bibi’ Gardner Heart of Love label, which helped him to gain a foothold in the music.
Prior to his Australian tour, Nature — who now resides in Kingston has toured Europe on two occasions.
He is scheduled to embark on another European tour in the summer, but he says that he is concentrating on promoting his single Kill No More, which is on own nature Power Production Label.
“I am going to Europe in the summer but while I here I am going to do some production and get ready to put out the video for Kill No More I am gearing up to make myself more known in Jamaica,” Nature explained.
