Begging for a second chance

Begging for a second chance

IF you’ve ever tried to win an ex back, you’ve most likely taken the “desperate times call for desperate measures” approach, causing you to do all kinds of unfortunate and even embarrassing things that may or may not have worked.

You may also have tried to portray yourself as together and strong, when in fact you’re dying inside from wanting a second chance from the one who stole your heart and crushed it.

Longing for a chance to make it right the second time around, this week readers below plead, through letters, for another shot with the ones they truly love.

Nicole,

Life is not the same without you. You were nothing short of a good girlfriend. I was distracted and too caught up with trying to impress my friends and ended up hurting you. I’ve said sorry many times but I know I cannot erase the embarrassment you suffered knowing I cheated on you for so many months with your best friend. I hope you realise that none of us have moved on. Maybe you’re trying to heal but I’m going nowhere and your spot with me is reserved. I hope you find the courage to forgive me and give me — us — a second, or better yet, another chance.

— Kemar

Hey Renee,

Wow. You may laugh or you may scoff when you see this, knowing how sarcastic you can be, but I’m sorry for everything I did. I lied to you for many years, and cheated on you with someone who I know you didn’t like. We’re grown now and we have our separate lives, but being older I realise that what we had at 20/21 years old was great. We had fun together — good, clean fun and I just took advantage of that. I’m sorry. When I walked away from you I did it in public and even now it pains when I remember how you broke down on campus that day. At that moment my heart was crushed but my ego got the best of me and I walked away from the best thing that ever happened to my life. I’m truly sorry and all I need is just one more chance to show you that I really love%
