Caricel says it will stay in business through legal process

KINGSTON, Jamaica — Telecoms provider Symbiote Investments Limited, which trades as Caricel, says it is continuing to offer competitive services as an LTE advanced telecoms provider in Jamaica despite recent developments pertaining to its acquisition of Jamaica’s third spectrum licence.

According to Minett Lawrence, company secretary for Symbiote Investments Limited, the company continues to offer a range of services to consumers on excellent terms and at affordable prices.

Lawrence noted that in the written decision of the Court, issued last Tuesday, the Judge gave consideration to the issue of national security and said there is nothing before it to suggest that  circumstances constituting the alleged threat to national security were in existence “at this time.”

“We wish to reassure our customers that Caricel has a valid domestic carrier and service provider license to provide local, fixed and international services and our spectrum license remains intact. We continue to offer top of the line service to our customers, and we look forward to a speedy resolution of all outstanding issues in a manner that will benefit Jamaicans and the telecoms market.” she stated.

Caricel is a mobile broadband operator driven by the power of higher bandwidth connectivity. The company offers LTE Advanced solution supported by a seamless network of tower-based infrastructure connectivity that extends mobile coverage throughout all parts of Jamaica and is capable of supporting an explosion of mobile data traffic.

“We are Jamaica’s first and only true data company, boasting an advanced LTE network. Our customers can expect reliable service priced to fit their pockets,” Lawrence noted.

Caricel  provides products and services to businesses and residential customers based on convenience, collaboration, and information sharing. Their connected LTE Advanced solution is supported by a seamless network of tower-based infrastructure connectivity.

The company is currently running beta tests that extends  coverage throughout  St Andrew and St Catherine and will continue to roll out across the island, gaining island wide coverage within a few months, Lawrence said.
