Westmoreland cane cutters stumble on dead man in field
WESTMORELAND, Jamaica — Cane cutters in Friendship, Westmoreland yesterday morning stumbled upon the body of a man in a cane field.
The Westmoreland police are now seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the man.The body is dark complexion, medium build and is about 165 centimetres (5 feet 5 inches) long. It was clad in a dark-coloured T-shirt, white shorts and black shoes.Reports from the Savanna-la-Mar police are that cane cutters were working in the field about 9:30am, when they stumbled upon the body and called them. The body was removed to the morgue to await post mortem.Anyone who may be able to assist investigators in identifying the body is being asked to contact the Savanna-la-Mar police at 955-2758, police 119 emergency number or the nearest police station.
