KINGSTON, Jamaica — Tax Administration Jamaica (TAJ) says it has collected approximately $71 million in outstanding traffic fines and processed approximately 38,000 tickets since the start of the second phase of the amnesty on November 27, 2017.

TAJ, in a release today, said with less than two weeks until the end of the amnesty, there has been an increase in the number of people visiting tax offices and logging on to its website to pay outstanding traffic fines.

The TAJ is reminding people that that they may opt to utilise the convenience of the online payment option by visiting www.jamaicatax.gov.jm using any valid credit card or by visiting any tax office island wide.

“Persons also have the option of conducting their online transaction at any major Tax Office at the designated eTaxSpot, to get support from TAJ personnel while conducting their online traffic ticket transactions.”

TAJ also informed that motorists must have the outstanding tickets or ticket numbers in hand to make the payment online or at any tax office.

The amnesty ends on January 13.
