Long Pond main road in Trelawny impassable due to rising waters — police
TRELAWNY, Jamaica — The public is advised that a section of the Long Pond main road, Clarkes Town in Trelawny is currently impassable due to rising waters as a result of the inclement weather.
Motorists are being asked to use the alternative routes through Rio Bueno and Jackson Town in the parish. Additionally, the police are urging pedestrians and motorists to proceed with caution.
The closure of the roadway in Clarks Town comes on the heels of the closure of a section of the Runaway Bay main road in St Ann in the vicinity of the police station this morning due to the inclement weather.
The Meteorological Service this morning issued a flash flood watch for low-lying and flood-prone areas of all parishes until 5:00 pm today.
