Canadian truck driver caught with cocaine in seafood at NMIA
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Police have released the identity of a Canadian man who was arrested at the Norman Manley International Airport (NMIA) on Wednesday after a police dog reportedly alerted lawmen to his luggage, which was found with 14 parcels of cocaine hidden in fish and crab meat.
The man, 58-year-old Collin Campbell, otherwise called ‘Fudge’, a truck driver of Toronto, Canada, was formally charged yesterday after he was interviewed in the presence of his attorney.
He was charged with the offences of possession of cocaine, dealing in cocaine, attempting to export cocaine and conspiracy and is to appear before the Kingston and St Andrew Parish court next Wednesday.
Police said the cocaine allegedly found in Campbell’s luggage weighs approximately 5.3 kilogrammes.
Investigations are ongoing.
