Police arrest Kingston teen held with firearm
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Police in Kingston Western yesterday arrested a juvenile in connection with the seizure of an illegal firearm and six rounds of ammunition during an operation on Rousseau Road in Kingston 5.
Reports from the Denham Town police are that about 5:30 pm, lawmen were conducting an operation aimed at curtailing street crimes such as extortion and robberies when the teenager was accosted and searched. A Smith and Wesson semi-automatic pistol loaded with six 9mm rounds of ammunition was taken from him.
His identity is being withheld pending further investigations.
This seizure comes on the heel of another firearm seizure at Matthews Lane in the division a few hours before.
