New Director of Tourism Donovan White will assist with sector’s growth — Bartlett
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Minister of Tourism Edmund Bartlett says he is pleased with the appointment of Donovan White as Jamaica’s new director of tourism.
The Ministry of Tourism in a release yesterday said White, who will commence duties on February 15, offers many years of marketing and business development experience.
Bartlett, said: “He brings a solid business acumen and marketing savvy to the Jamaica Tourist Board, having developed, managed and executed vertically integrated marketing and branding strategies for a range of industry sectors including media, telecoms, advertising and technology.
“As a member of Jamaica’s tourism team, I am confident that Mr White’s experience will assist the JTB to continue on its current path of delivering increased tourism results through innovative public and private sector partnerships.”
White was appointed after an extensive local and international search, the ministry said.
He previously served as vice president of Cable & Wireless Business, Jamaica and vice president, Marketing, Sales & Media Services at FLOW.
He has also held the positions of general manager of Caledonia Outdoor Advertising Limited; marketing director at Digicel for Jamaica, Guyana and the northern Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States, as well as vice president, sales & marketing at CVM Communications Group.
