Wanted St James man surrenders, charged with two counts of murder
ST JAMES, Jamaica — One of the most wanted men in St James was charged with two counts of murder and one count of wounding with intent when he surrendered to the police on Saturday.
He is 27-year-old Kirk Stevens otherwise called ‘Wanka’ or ‘Shattam’, music producer of Flankers or Guango Cresent, both in St James.
The charges were laid after Stevens reported to the police about 6:00 am, accompanied by his lawyer. His court date is to be announced at a later date.
To date, two people from the St James most wanted list, which the police published in January 2017, have surrendered peacefully and are in safe custody.
The security forces are encouraging persons identified as wanted, as also relatives or friends who may know of their whereabouts to contact the nearest police station, Crime Stop at 311, 811, the Stay Alert App or have a pastor or a justice of the peace (JP) accompany them to the nearest police station.
