Cops find lead sheets, firearm in Westmoreland; two arrested
WESTMORELAND, Jamaica — The police have arrested two men in connection with the seizure of a firearm and several lead sheets — used in the illicit lottery scam — on Godfrey Street in Grange Hill, Westmoreland this afternoon.
Reports from the Grange Hill police are that police were conducting an intelligence led operation about 1:20 pm in the area, which led to the search of a premises.
During the search, one Springfield XD .40 pistol and 22 lead sheets were found.
The men were subsequently taken into custody and are facing charges of breaches of the Firearms And Law Reform (fraudulent transactions) (special provisions) Acts.
Their identities are however being withheld pending further investigations.
