Blown JPS transformer disrupts water supply to St Catherine, Corporate Area
KINGSTON, Jamaica — The National Water Commission (NWC) is reporting that a blown Jamaica Public Service (JPS) transformer at its Well H facility has impacted water supply distribution on the Eastern Headwork’s series of relift stations.
This has resulted in customers in some sections of St Catherine and the Corporate Area either experiencing low water pressure or no water conditions.
Areas affected include Kent Village, Spanish Town Road, Molynes Road, Washington Boulevard, sections of downtown Kingston, Hamilton Gardens, Christian Gardens, Christian Pen, Newland Road, Cumberland, Cedar Grove, Edgewater, Waterford, Gregory Park, Braeton, Independence City and Hellshire.
The NWC said that the JPS is currently working to have electricity restored at the facility by late this evening
