Two Chinese nationals charged under the Intellectual Property Rights Act
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Four of the six people who were taken into custody in relation to the seizure of an estimated $300 million worth of counterfeit goods on Princess Street in Kingston yesterday have been released.

The other two who are Chinese nationals have since been charged by investigators from the Counter Terrorism and Organised Crime Branch (C-TOC) with unauthorised use of trade mark, breaches of the Customs Act and misleading and deceptive conduct.
They have since been identified as 40-year-old Zhang Timpim of Lords Road, Kingston 5 and 32-year-old Yang Zhao of Halifax Avenue, Kingston 8.
Reports are that about 9:00 am lawmen were on operation in the area when a number of stores were searched and hundreds of counterfeit items, including shoes, clothing, phone cases, back-packs and other items were seized. Six people – five males and one female – were subsequently taken into custody; however, four were later released.
The accused are to appear in the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court on Wednesday, May 2.
