Woman killed, 4 injured in Hanover shooting

HANOVER, Jamaica — A woman was shot dead and four others, including another female, were left nursing gunshot wounds after two men pounced up on the group while they were walking along a roadway in Haughton district in Salt Spring Hanover last night.

The deceased has been identified as 38-year-old businesswoman Ronda Smith otherwise called ‘Suzie’.

Reports from the Green Island police are that the group was walking in a lane about 10:00pm when they were approached by two men who opened gunfire hitting them.

The police were alerted and the five people were taken to hospital where Smith was pronounced dead.
