JPS replacing customer service offices in three parishes with mobile units
HANOVER, Jamaica — The Jamaica Public Service (JPS) has announced that as of April 30, it will be replacing its customer service offices in three parishes with mobile units in communities.
JPS, in a release today, said that this will result in the closure of the customer service offices in Lucea, Hanover; Falmouth, Trelawny and Port Antonio in Portland.
“To ensure a seamless transition, JPS will have an established schedule of places and locations for the mobile units, which will be advertised locally,” said JPS, adding that the company will also be informing customers of the schedule via text messages and emails.
With this, customers are encouraged to share their current primary cell phone number and email address with JPS.
“Customers will still be able to get information on their accounts via the 24 hour JPS Customer Care Centre, as well as via email and through the company’s online customer service channels (Webchat, Facebook and Twitter), and the JPS Mobile App,” the utility company noted.
JPS also sought to assure customers that they will continue to experience the quality service that they have grown to expect as the company will continue to carry out maintenance, conduct repairs, effect connections and reconnections and attend to all customer care matters in an expeditious manner.
“JPS will remain very much an integral part of all the named communities,” the release added.
