Manchester corporal chopped, hospitalised
MANCHESTER, Jamaica — Inspector Lloyd Darby from the Christiana Police Division in Manchester has confirmed that a member of his team is now nursing a machete wound inflicted by a man believed to be mentally ill.
Reports are that the corporal was riding his bike through Christiana town, minutes after 9 o’ clock this morning, when the unprovoked attack occurred.
Darby said the policeman’s injury is serious but he is stable.
The attacker is reportedly also in hospital nursing injuries that he sustained from citizens after the attack.
His condition is not known at present.
