Spalding Cup: Rain curtails STETHS progress at 141-6
ST ELIZABETH, Jamaica — Heavy rain ended play prematurely with St Elizabeth Technical High School (STETHS) on 141-6 against Innswood High on Tuesday’s opening day of the ISSA/GraceKennedy Financial Group Spalding Cup three-day cricket match at STETHS playing field.
Match officials decided to call off the day’s play shortly before 3:30 pm with puddles of water still visible in the outfield.
Score: STETHS 141-6 (57 overs)
STETHS number three batsman Andre McCarthy has top-scored with 35. Odane Thompson and Rajee Simpson are the not out batsmen, on 23 and 12, respectively. The pair have added 45 runs for the seventh wicket.
Innswood captain and left-arm finger spinner Jeavor Royal has claimed 3-40.
