The Colour Comeback
Wedding tabletops in 2025 are bursting with personality.
Lifestyle, Tuesday Style

The Colour Comeback

I’ll admit it — I was starting to feel uninspired by neutral-toned weddings. You know the ones: mostly white, maybe a hint of blush, ivory if we’re lucky, or champagne if we’re really feeling bold. But in 2025? Colour isn’t just back — it’s taking centre stage, turning heads, and setting the tone for unforgettable celebrations.

This year, couples are leaving behind minimalist palettes and muted tones that have ruled the wedding world for the past five-plus years. Instead, they’re embracing bold, expressive, unapologetic colour — and I am so here for it!

From fiery red tablescapes and citrus-hued runners to gowns in rich jewel tones, colour is being used not just for aesthetic appeal but as a storytelling tool. It’s joyful, it’s emotional, and most of all — it’s personal.

I often ask myself: Why now? I believe it’s a response to the years we spent scaling back — postponing celebrations, hosting intimate micro-weddings, and playing it safe. Now, couples are ready to go all-out. That means bold florals, daring fashion choices, and vibrant palettes that reflect their culture, their energy, and their individuality.

Where We’re Seeing It

The Attire – The Dress and the Suit!

Think floral appliqués, coloured tulle, and dreamy ombré veils. Brides are stepping away from traditional white and choosing gowns in buttery yellows, powder blues, and hand-painted floral prints. Grooms are equally fearless — forest green tuxedos, rich burgundy blazers, even full-print suits are officially in.

Statement Florals

2025 florals are nothing short of fearless. We’re seeing towering arrangements in unexpected colour combinations, bold monochromatic blooms, and wild tropicals paired with delicate garden classics. Forget the “soft and romantic” aesthetic, this is all about bold impact and breathtaking beauty.

Maximalist Tablescapes

This year’s tabletops are bursting with personality — patterned linens, coloured taper candles, textured chargers, mismatched glassware, and layered place settings. It’s curated chaos at its finest: intentional, artistic, and most importantly — fun.

Couples are also infusing their palettes with meaningful cultural references and personal touches. From Indian brides rocking boldly coloured saris in a modern way, to Caribbean-inspired colour explosions that capture the rhythm and energy of island life — colour is telling the story of who they are.

Tips for Going Bold Without Going Overboard

1.Choose a Hero Colour – Start with one standout hue and let it lead the way.

2.Balance is Key – Use neutrals like soft grey, ivory, or taupe to ground your palette.

3.Trust the Experts – Bold colours require balance. Work with designers who know how to layer tones and textures thoughtfully.

4.Don’t Be Afraid to Clash – It’s 2025! Unexpected colour pairings are the new classic. Orange and pink? Absolutely. Lavender and red? A must-try.

Your wedding is the ultimate expression of your love story — why not let it shine in full colour? Whether you opt for just a bold pop or a full-on technicolor fantasy, let your palette reflect your joy, your culture, your vibe, and your vision. Because in 2025, colour isn’t just part of the wedding — it’s the life of the party! So here’s to bold brides, bright blooms, and brilliantly coloured beginnings.
