KINGSTON, Jamaica — The People’s National Party (PNP) launched its two-day islandwide bus tour on Friday under the banner “Jamaica Time Come for Better”, as part of its mobilisation efforts ahead of the next general election.

The tour began around 10:00 am from National Heroes Circle, led by PNP President Mark Golding, alongside General Secretary, Dr Dayton Campbell, Chairman Dr Angela Brown-Burke and other senior members, Members of Parliament and candidates.

During the first leg of the journey, the PNP motorcade is expected to pass through several travel towns including Golding Spring, Annotto Bay, Port Maria, Oracabessa, Ocho Rios, St Ann’s Bay, Discovery Bay and Falmouth, where a meeting is scheduled.

Dr Campbell said the tour marks a major phase in the PNP’s campaign rollout.

“This is kickstarting the penultimate phase of our campaign. We are going around the country to touch base with our supporters and to show that we are in the ascendancy. Our people are fully energised and mobilised and ready to go, waiting on the prime minister to announce the date so that we can form government,” he said.

According to Dr Campbell, the PNP’s aspirants for the respective constituencies and the party president will share their plans at each stop.

“So it will give us an opportunity throughout the course of our travels to air all our policies and for persons to hear from their leader and their local representative,” he said.

The second phase of the tour will continued on Saturday, July 5, with the PNP team passing through Sam Sharpe Square, Sandy Bay, Lucea, Negril (via Green Island), Savanna-la-Mar (via L. London), Whitehouse, Black River and Lacovia, with the final meeting being held in Santa Cruz.
