Laurent Therivel appointed to Digicel board of directors

KINGSTON, Jamaica –Digicel Group has announced the appointment of Laurent Therivel to its board of directors.

The communications provider made the announcement in a media release on Monday noting that Therivel’s appointment comes at a time when the company is accelerating its transformation agenda across its 25 markets in the Caribbean, Central America, and South America.

“Laurent’s experience balances scale, innovation, and market complexity,” said Rajeev Suri, chairman of Digicel Group. “He is a respected voice in the global telecom industry, and we are privileged to welcome him to the Board as we navigate the next chapter of Digicel’s growth.”

“Digicel is at a critical and exciting inflection point,” said Marcelo Cataldo, CEO of Digicel Group.

“Laurent’s operational expertise and strategic instincts will be a tremendous asset as we sharpen our focus on building the digital infrastructure and enterprise solutions that will define connectivity across our markets.”

Therivel has more than two decades of leadership across the telecommunications and technology sectors, including distinguished roles as CEO of US Cellular, senior executive at AT&T, and a foundational career as a Communications Officer in the US Marine Corps.

His experience spans operational execution, financial management, and strategic transformation in both complex emerging markets and highly regulated US environments.
