143 Restaurant & Lounge

Where Every Bite Says ‘I Love You’

Tucked away on the sun-kissed shores of Runaway Bay, St Ann, Tiamo Beach Resort & Spa is more than a luxurious escape — it’s a tribute to love, connection, and the art of living well. At the heart of this boutique haven lies 143 Restaurant & Lounge, a culinary escape whose name is a digital love note — “143” being the numeric shorthand for ‘I love you’.

This isn’t just branding — it’s the soul of the entire property… it’s the passion project of its principals Annika D’Andrea and Clinton Valentine (clock the surname) that keeps it beating. The principals behind Tiamo Beach Resort didn’t just build a business — they poured their personalities, passions, and travel-inspired sensibilities into every detail.

“This is a love story, not just between us, but between people and place, food and memory, celebration and connection. We officially opened in April of this year and we’re just eager to share what we have been building,” D’Andrea explained.

Dining is a love language and 143 Restaurant & Lounge is the resort’s beating heart. With its open-air design, soft lighting, and panoramic views of the Caribbean Sea, the ambiance is effortlessly romantic. However, it’s the menu that truly speaks volumes.

Inspired by the flavours of Jamaica and the world beyond, the culinary offerings are bold, fresh, and meant to satisfy even the most discerning. Chef Neal Heslop is guiding this process of having the menu reflect the elegance, visual aesthetics, and the scenery.

“Seafood is a highlight for us, as we aim to be known for the freshest and best fish in Jamaica. Other signature dishes are our lobster curried with jasmine rice and dessert ‘Island Indulgence’, featuring coconut ice cream, ginger coconut drops, mango garnish, served in fresh coconut jelly with a finisher of coconut water,” Heslop stated.

“Just as how the guests are mesmerised by the beautiful hotel lobby with the breeze from the Caribbean Sea, I want my guests to also be enchanted by the smell of Jamaican and international flavours from the kitchen. We’re looking to emphasise rustic, elegant charm through guango wood furniture and by elevating the experience through presentation with banana leaves and handmade plates,” Heslop explained.

Another feature is the ‘Dinner and a Show’, as entertainment is a major vein supporting the beat of the property.

“143 isn’t just a restaurant — it’s a venue for life’s most cherished moments. The space is flexible and thoughtfully designed to host weddings, anniversaries, birthdays, and any occasion that brings people together in love. With entertainment options ranging from live music to curated DJ sets. We had Agent Sasco for our Father’s Day Brunch and our opening featured the group LUST as well as other live acts. We have George Nooks set for August 23, another in our Dinner and a Show series,” said Ryan Bailey, general manager.

“We wanted to create a space that would present opportunities to make memories — from the food offerings to entertainment and other amenities. Everything here is about love,” Valentine concluded.
